Dale & Michaela - Wedding

Michaela & Dale were married on Friday, July 25 and asked me to capture their ceremony and formals.

This car was Dale's dad's car. Dale had it repainted for the wedding and rolled up to get Michaela with some good oldies playing on the radio.

I like the reflection in the rear-view mirror.
Michaela and Dale's 9-month-old daughter had a big job: flower girl and ring bearer! She was just too sweet in this vintage pram.

Thanks Dale & Michaela! Have a great cruise!

Chris & Carmelle - Engagement

When I first met with Carmelle & Chris it felt like we all just clicked. I was thrilled to be asked to document their wedding day! I had a few ideas in mind for their engagement session, and I especially wanted it to be good since it will likely be my last engagement session of the season! I finally settled on the idea of visiting a winery and ran it past Carmelle. She told me that they loved the idea and it completely suited them since they love fine dining and wine. I was definitely looking forward to the session and it turned out great! Carmelle & Chris were so much fun!

(so silly)

Mikaela & Sharon

My friend Mikaela asked me quite a while ago to do a photoshoot as a surprise for her friend Sharon who was coming to visit from England. They met while Mikaela was travelling and England and they ventured together through Europe. During our shoot we toured downtown... but maybe not the parts of downtown that Sharon was expecting! A few of the locations were a bit grungier than most tourists like :) But we had a fun time!

Sharon, it was a pleasure to meet you! I hope you enjoy your travels in Canada!!

Mark and Rachel - July 19, 2008

Mark and Rachel were married on July 19 at the Interfaith Chapel at uVic. Mark and Rachel have such an amazing relationship and are high school sweethearts! I love documenting the full wedding day, not just because I get to tell the whole story, but because you get to know the couple so well. Mark and Rachel, thank you so much for letting me be a part of your day!

I met up Rachel and her family at their house before the ceremony.
Rachel had this gorgeous dress.

I loved the vintage scallops.

Rachel's sister, Hannah, lacing up the dress.
At the reception I was told that Rachel doesn't really like her picture being taken... I was a little bit surprised because all day I kept thinking to myself how natural she was!

She borrowed her mother's pearls.

Her ring and bracelets.

Rachel's family is from Scotland, so there were many people there in kilts. This little guy won my heart right away!

He kept his eye on me during the ceremony.

The ceremony was very emotional: full of tears...

and laughter...

There were piles of leaves everywhere... autumn is my favourite season so it was fun to have a bit of fall in the middle of July!
We also visited Mt. Tolmie.

Mark had his brother as his best man and Rachel had her sister as her maid of honor.

Their getaway car.
Thanks again Mark and Rachel! I hope you had a great honeymoon!

Meghan and Rommy - Wedding

Meghan & Rommy were married on July 13 at The Westin Bear Mountain Resort. What a gorgeous location! It was such a beautiful day. I am always so honoured to be a part of such a special occasion.

Meghan said that her shoes might not be worthy of having their portrait taken. I assured her that they were!

Dress details.

I loved this vase.

And when Meghan told me that her Grandma gave her these tissues, I just had to get another ring shot with them!
Getting dressed with the help of mom and bridesmaids.
Finishing touches. (Can you see me?)
Kiss from dad as he's giving her away...
First kiss as husband and wife!
I knew I had to get some portraits in these chairs when I saw them at the rehearsal.

Some portraits:

Of course I got one of the cake before it was cut! But I thought I'd share this one instead.

The first dance.

Thanks Meghan and Rommy for allowing me to document your amazing day. I hope you had a great time in Maui!
