Jen & Scott - Wedding - September 13, 2008

I was away in Calgary all last week, but right before I left I shot Jen & Scott's evening wedding on the rooftop of the Swans Hotel, which overlooks the inner harbour. It was a great location! Their reception was held in the penthouse suite which was filled with such amazing art and antique furniture. I was excited to shoot this wedding from the very first meeting with the couple!

I love this look that Scott is giving to his Bride during the ceremony.

Scott's three children.

Can you tell they are related?

Jen carefully making her way down the stairs.

We had such great light.

I brought Scott & Jen up to the rooftop for some pictures as the sun was setting.

Back inside, it was fun to play with the light reflecting off the window.

Thank you Scott & Jen for a beautiful night! I hope you are having an amazing time on your Mediterranean cruise!

Baby K.

I went to Colin & Lia's house yesterday to meet their little guy. What a sweetie! Colin & Lia had a bunch of ideas for photos, all of which were very personal to them. It was a bit different than I normally do, but I was happy for a change!

Lia's grandfather built this crib.

He loved his soother!

Ryland - Newborn

Danielle & Paul came by this morning with their little boy, Ryland. Ryland was born a few weeks early, then I was on vacation, and then I was sick last week! So I've been waiting a little while to meet this little guy. I was expecting a chunky little 5-weeker, forgetting that Ryland was a preemie! He surprised me by being tinier still than most newborns! At 5-weeks he is only just around 6lbs.

What a sweet little guy! He was pretty vocal, letting me know by giving me little grunts of disaproval when I moved him around: How could you be interrupting my nap? Well, Ryland, you were just too cute not to!

Rosalee - 9 months

Words cannot express just how sweet this little girl is.

but... I think these pictures can.

I can't believe that Rosalee has only 1 session left of her Watch Me Grow package. How can it be almost a year already?

bSquared wedding - August 30, 2008 - Regina, SK

I spent the last Saturday of August documenting the wedding day of my friend Becky. I knew it was going to be a fabulous day, even if Becky had to miss the Backstreet Boys concert to get married. I think it truly shows her dedication to her new husband, Bryan. Becky pretty much gave me all the control when it came to picking spots, which was almost too difficult of a task! Everyone out here says Regina is ugly, but everywhere I looked I found these fabulous run-down, beat-up buildings. It was beautiful. It was so hard to choose! We did go to some "pretty" spots too, but I spent most of my time driving up and down the streets in the warehouse district, trying to decide which place I wanted to go.

Anyway, my lovely photographer friend Jessie and I met Becky in the Presidential Suite of the Delta hotel, which had some great light.

(PS - can you tell which one of the images from this post was taken with a Canon?!)

I *heart* her little hands poking out the top.

iBecky.
iBryan.

I have to admit that the iBecky and iBryan images are a bit of a (okay, a complete) rip-off of my favourite photographers theimageisfound. Bryan's sister had an iPhone with her and I just couldn't resist those shots!

I should mention that for this next one I was piggybacking Jessie to get the height I wanted. If only there was someone else there to take a picture of us!

I just don't know where to stop with these blogs do I? They just keep getting longer and longer. Since Becky is a friend of mine, I will post even more on facebook.

Becky & Bryan... thank you so much for having me! It was a complete honour. It was seriously an amazing day, and I had such a blast! Enjoy!

Chelsey

(PS - obviously, the canon shot is the one labelled jesslaine elise, taken by my friend and second shooter for the day, Jessie (and edited by moi). Since I can't make up my mind about Canon vs. Nikon, the whole day I was going back and forth. For that shot, Canon won, so it gets honourable mention on the blog... not sure what Cody is going to think about that!!)

Tim & Liz - Wedding - Furry Creek, BC

I have been wanting to post this one for a long time... sorry that it has taken so long, Tim & Liz. To make up for the wait, I am posting a ton of pictures from Tim & Liz's August 17th wedding in at Furry Creek Country Club. What an amazing location!

But first: I was really into the rings that day, so here are a couple of favourites.

Tim & Liz had these amazing invitations printed on canvas.

I couldn't resist the hot pink.

Earring bling.

Liz's super-tall wedge shoes!

I spotted this in Liz's kitchen while she was getting ready.

The girls got their hair and make-up done in Coquitlam, and then we drove to Furry Creek. But we had to stop for some Starbucks first!
Cheers!

Once at the country club, Liz got into her dress.

Didn't I tell you it was amazing? Pictures, of course, don't do it justice.

These two were so cute! Zoe is blowing bubbles. They both did such a great job!
Liz and her mom, coming down the aisle. They have such an amazing story.
Some ceremony shots.

The first kiss.

After the ceremony.

I was excited that Liz was pretty free with her dress!

This little girl just melted my heart.

Girl time.

The guys busting out the ninja moves. They were hesitant at first, but I knew they had it in them.
We rode all around the golf course in golf carts. When we got to the water, Tim & Liz had no problem jumping right in. After such a hot day it felt so good to get our feet wet!

Tootsies.

I was thrilled when we drove through this tunnel.

To the reception we go!

Cutting the cake.

The ladies fighting for the bouquet.

Aren't we fun!?
Tim & Liz... thank you so much for everything! I loved coming to Vancouver for both your engagement session and your wedding. It was a beautiful day and I hope that you had a great time in Costa Rica!

Special thanks to my friend Mikaela who helped carry my bags and nit-pick my shots to pefection!
